Prayer at St John’s

“Your Kingdom Come, your will be done…”

We are currently in a season of building in prayer practices into our lives, both as individuals and as a wider church family, as we take steps forward together into deeper prayer.

There is lots of ways to get involved in prayer:

Prayer & Fasting Weeks: Jesus invites us to pray for God’s Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6). From the very beginning, God has desired His people to partner with Him in bringing about His purposes, and prayer has always been central to that partnership. At this time, we sense a heightened invitation from heaven—for each of us individually and for us together as His church—to step forward in prayer. This is an exciting moment, as it signals God preparing to move in fresh ways among us. Desiring to see His Kingdom touch every place we live, work, and serve, we are setting aside six five-day periods of prayer and fasting, each focused on a specific area of influence, so that every area we occupy may be intentionally covered in prayer.

The first of these periods begins on Monday 26th January 2026 and we will be focusing on Retired people, Charity and non-profit workers, Church and community volunteers, Trustees, mentors, and community organisers etc…

For more details on what and how to get involved, please check out the Prayer and Fasting Guide HERE, as well as some support for how to engage in Fasting HERE. We will also be hosting two in person prayer meetings at St Johns on Tuesday 27th January, 10am and Thursday 29th January, 8pm.

Prayer in Connect Groups: Prayer is a key competent and focus of our Connect Groups. Whether thats prayer for one another, for those we know or the places we live and work. If you’re not yet involved in a Connect Group and would like to be, find more information HERE

Prayer Walking: Every Tuesday afternoon we take time to prayer walk various areas across the parish and area around St Johns. We believe this has transformational impact and would love you to join us at 2pm for an hour each Tuesday. We meet in the St Johns car park

Daily Prayer Rhythms: Below are the dates of our weekly prayer rhythms running each week. We hope the variety of times and formats will help as many as possible find a rhythm that works within their weekly routines.

If you’re looking for the link to the Zoom calls, click on the event below and then the Zoom word and it will open the call, the passcode for all meetings is pray.

We’ve also collected our “Post-It Prayer Board” which we will keep updated as prayer requests change and we see answers. Please do pray into these areas as we are expectant for what God will do.
