Prayer at St John’s

“Your Kingdom Come, your will be done…”

Prayer is at the heart of who we as St Johns, and something we want to continue to nurture and grow amongst us, as we move towards our aspiration to be a 'House of Prayer' for the nations!

There is lots of ways to get involved in prayer:

Global Week of 24/7 Prayer

In September we will be joining over 500 other churches to take part in the Global Week of 24/7 Prayer from 6th-13th September.

We will be putting on some centralised prayer meetings across the week, but our aim is to get as close to 24/7 coverage as possible and would encourage all of us to get involved by signing up to a slot or two

How do I sign up?
Please use the link below to sign up for a slot (no login required, you can sign in as a guest). Minimum slot length is half an hour, but we would recommend at least an hour if possible. You could pray alone, as a Connect or prayer group, in-person in our prayer room (details to follow), in the Garden of Hope or at home (or anywhere!). If you want to come to the prayer room as an individual, we would recommend you book anonymously (an option during sign up). Any questions, please talk to Steve or Karenza.

What resources are there?
There are many different resources out there to support you praying for the nations. Keep an eye on the 24/7 website, but we would also recommend using Operation World (either website or app) to help you learn about and pray for different nations every day,

We also have some guidance around Fasting, ways to Pray and will be adding in more resources / books etc… over the course of the Summer

Prayer in Connect Groups

Prayer is a key competent and focus of our Connect Groups. Whether thats prayer for one another, for those we know or the places we live and work. If you’re not yet involved in a Connect Group and would like to be, find more information HERE

Prayer Walking

Every Tuesday afternoon we take time to prayer walk various areas across the parish and area around St Johns. We believe this has transformational impact and would love you to join us at 2pm for an hour each Tuesday. We meet in the St Johns car park

Daily Prayer Meetings

Daily Prayer is key to us ‘holding and taking ground’ for Gods Kingdom. Below are the dates of our daily prayer meetings running each week. We hope the variety of times and formats will help as many as possible find a rhythm that works within their weekly routines.

If you’re looking for the link to the Zoom calls, click on the event below and then the Zoom word and it will open the call, the passcode for all meetings is pray.

We’ve also collected our “Post-It Prayer Board” which we will keep updated as prayer requests change and we see answers. Please do pray into these areas as we are expectant for what God will do.
